In that room, Obama was the ONLY leader who bowed to the Saudi king. Stop making excuses for him. USA presidents do not bow to leaders of foreign countries. Period.
Bush held hands with the Saudi king – it is a custom in that part of the world and he was ridiculed by the lefties. My assuption is that holding hands implies equality in a personal relationship while bowing to a person does not. Otherwise, the Saudi king would bow to Obama in return.

Nosf37, Obama bowed to the Saudi king because it’s a customary show of respect in that part of the world. Bush did the same thing, as well as kissing him and holding his hand as they walked.
Bowing like Obama did is not deference or subservience; for that, he would have to drop to his knees and touch his head to the floor.
